Jiaming Cheng
My name is Jiaming Cheng. I am a Ph.D student in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at the Arizona State University(ASU), advised by Prof. Duong Tung Nguyen and Prof. Ni Trieu . In addition, I am also a cohort member of Transdiciplinary Collabarative PhD Pilot program from Sep. 2022 to Sep. 2023. Previously, I obtained my M.A.S.c degree with distinction in Electrical Eigineering at The University of British Columbia (UBC) in Sep 2021, advised by Prof. Vijay Bhargava on resilienc-aware edge service placement and resource allocation under uncertainties in 5G networks (Thesis). Before joining in UBC, I received my BSc degree with distinction, University of Alberta (Ualberta), in Jun 2019. At the same time, I was supervised by Prof. Yindi Jing on an NSERC undergraduate research project focused on user scheduling and antenna selection in Massive MIMO wireless communication, from Sep 2018 to April 2019. Research InterestsHis current research lies into the intersections of operations research, network economics and optimization for large scale networked systems (e.g., Sustainable computing, EV charging and electricity market). He is also interested in the applications of machine learning and game theory in networked systems. His research objective is to investigate and understand fundamental questions using both theoretical and practical approaches and provide useful insights into the design of systems and algorithms in practice.
